I Like Breathing

I got a massage last night. Dee-licious.

I feel really pretty good about life right now. Alex and I are getting away this weekend for our anniversary, work is great, we have some amazing friends, my back isn't killing me and I'm guzzling a Mountain Dew.
All these equal happiness.

Plus these things is the assurance that Alex and I can indeed afford to live in our house. The bills are in place to pay for our first normal month of living there and it looks like we will even have some money leftover for food. Yay! I have been so, so stressed about this and I'm just glad that I know what to expect now.

Wanna know some secrets?
- Taylor Swift songs make me cry.
- I hardly ever stay interested in something for too long. I'll play video games with Alex every day for a month and then not play once in 6 months. I'll do a craft 3 times a week and then go for 3 months without doing one.
- I have a reall small bladder.
- I want to make time to meditate every day but I can never wake up until I absolutely have to.
- I hate showering. Hate it.

And now, I have to go to the bathroom. See? Small bladder.

2 WHOLE YEARS!

Happy Anniversary to me and my hubby!!
I could do a whole post about how amazing he is and how I fall more and more in love with him every day, but you would all toss your cookies because of the mush. And cookies are good and meant to stay in the tummy, so just suffice it to say that I LOVE being married to my man that is perfect for me.

So.... trying to get back into blogging is hard because I feel like I don't know what to write about. How about I complain a little bit? I'm sure my hubby is sick of hearing about it, so I'll vent about it to the blogging world where no one has to listen if they don't want to :)
K, I am tired ALL the time. Seriously, all the time. No matter how much sleep I get, no matter what time of day it is. It is really rare for me to feel like I have any real energy whatsoever. I am really, really sick of it. I went to get my hormones tested and they said everything was normal, except for some pancreas stuff, but that doesn't affect energy. I can't figure out what is wrong with me. Even when I was on the raw diet, still nothing. I take vitamins and Juice Plus (basically two capsules of a gazillion grams of vegetables and fruits broken down into powder form) every day. No difference. What gives, body?!
On top of this I feel like I have been falling apart in the last few weeks. First, I think I got black mold exposure so I had crazy allergies for a good week and a half. Right during the move. Then my back started hurting so bad that it just goes numb sometimes. And sometimes I just go into the bathroom at work and cry for a minute cuz it hurts so bad. Seriously, I feel like I'm 30 years older than I am! Ugh. I hate, hate not being in control of my body.
Any suggestions, 10 people that occasionally read my blog??

Hey, did you know that we have a roommate? We do. His name is Khol. Not Kohl. Sometimes we call him K-hole. But not to his face. He is a super nice guy and we feel like there is a reason that everything fell into place exactly for him to come live with us for a little while.

That's all I can ramble about for now. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things soon and find things to blog about...

Getting Back on the Grid

Hello, again!
I think I'm ready to start blogging again, as life is once again approaching a semi-normal pace.
Since my last post we have bought a house, celebrated Christmas and New Years, sanded, stained, painted, cleaned, worked, bought, shot guns, vegged and just been all around happy with life.
Some pictures to prove it:

Alex working so hard and being so manly. I love him.

Alex showing off the fruits of the stellar Rainbow Sign & Banner Christmas party. I have the best workplace ever. I look forward to the Christmas party all year long :)

Building a gingerbread train with our adorable nephew, Gabe. He did most of the decorating on his own. This is him eyeing his handiwork critically.

Shooting! We are both wearing our Jimmy shirts :D Joy.

Part of vegging. Alex makes amazing Molletes. It is a bolillo (just basically a roll) hollowed out, filled with refried beans and topped with Mexican cheese. Stick them in the oven to broil til the cheese melts and top with Alex's famous pico de gallo. YUM!

The sexy shotgun Alex bought me for Christmas!!!

I bought Al and his dad matching Glenn Beck t-shirts. They are so handsome ;)

Christmas Eve karaoke party with the Theo's!

Christmas Eve with my whole fam.

Our sexy new bed. I'm pretty much in love with it. But I'm more so in love with the fact that my amazing husband makes the bed and even puts all the pretty pillows up every single day. Every day. Amazing.

So there is the last month summed up in pictures. I will post the before and after pictures of projects once we get them done - HA! We still don't have doors on our cabinets... But we did get the drawers done! Woot! No more silverware on the counter.

We just feel super lucky to have been blessed so much as of late, and we are super excited to celebrate our 2nd anniversary on Monday!
And now I will sign off because our freaking awesome friends, the Telfords, have dinner made for us and just got here! Our life rocks. ROCKS!!!!

The Things of Late

Well, I haven't blogged in a while because we've been crazy busy! Thanksgiving was a blast and I loved spending time with Alex's family, the Seegmillers.
The biggest news, though, is that we are buying a house! WOOT! We should close in less than two weeks - Merry Christmas to us!
As soon as I have pictures I will get them up. We plan on basically redoing most of the house, so you will be blessed with many before and after pictures. Hopefully sooner than later.
Also, we won a tv over the weekend! We are basically the luckiest people I know right now.
So, after all that time I now realize that I don't have much to report on so I will steal this fun survey from Alex's cousin's blog :)

Biggest...

splurge... 42" TV and laptop. And one time I bought 3 little things of lip gloss for $15. Ya, $15 for lip gloss... what was I thinking?
impact on my life... My husband, my church and my family. Oh, and Big Bang Theory. BAZINGA!
life changing moment... My wedding day. In the most literal sense, I can't think of anything else that has changed my every day life more than that.
obsession... Crafts - I daydream of having all the money I could ever want just to spend at Michaels and Roberts. Mountain Dew - yeees. And wrapping paper! I LOVE wrapping paper!!
fear... Having Alex die... I have the worst imagination when it comes to this. I imagine myself in the shower, smelling his body wash after he's gone... living in the house by myself. It's weird. I have to stop myself.

Best.........

accomplishment.... Landing a sexy, sensitive, funny, handsome, intelligent man to be mine forever. And making it out of Havasupai alive.
life advice... Choose to be happy. Choose every day and every moment.
part of my day... Getting home from work to a usually clean house, getting into my p.j.'s and deciding with my hubby how we will spend the night. Usually: make dinner together and watch Big Bang. What will we do when we run out of seasons?! I shutter.
beauty tip... I steal from Lauren: bangs are a great way to hide a huge forehead. And, always curl your eyelashes.
pair of jeans... Whatever I picked up at Kohl's that fits me at the moment. I usually only own 1-2 pairs at a time until I wear them out.

Favorite...

season... Spring! I love everything about it.
movie... Empire Records. ... open til midnight. MIDNIGHT!
vacation... As of now it is our trip to Acapulco, but ask me in March and it will be our cruise to the Mexican Riveria. Ya, baby!
movie star... Rachel McAdams or Matthew McConaughey. Or Will Smith. Or Eva Mendes. Or Joseph Gordon Leavitt. I guess I have a lot.
comfort food... Cliche or not, it's usually chocolate. Or anything that my mom made when I was young. Except that macaroni and cheese with real cheese. I never liked that.
quote... It's long, but it's so good. (and....that's what she said).
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
-Marianne Williamson

....just TRY to tell me that quote doesn't give you chills. I dare you.

Dreams and Wishes...

dream vacation... Hard one. Choices are between a really fancy resort on a gorgeous island or at least 4 weeks traveling Europe. I'd most likely choose Europe.
one wish for life... To get to the end and have no regrets. To just live a happy life. No matter what happens.
one trait you wish you could change... The tingly feeling I get in my butt when I hear about other people getting hurt. ... is that a trait??
talent you wished you possessed... Drawring. Honestly, though, I have the ability to do a lot of things (cook, laugh, spell, organize, sing, dance, teach children, understand languages, love - all of which I consider to be talents) and so I don't feel bad that my stick figures look like they were drawn by a monkey.

Hope you enjoyed! Feel free to copy, paste and edit. I'd love to see your answers.
Merry Christmas!

Because We Are Pretty Hard Core

Ya, that's an M-16. It can empty a 100-round magazine in 7.2 seconds.

Don't mess with us, mk?

A Dialogue and a Story

"Dialogue"

Jaylyn:(to self) "What could I get Alex for Christmas?... Hmm. Jimmy Eat World = one of his very favesies of bands. I also thoroughly enjoy them. They just came out with a new album. Let's see if they're touring."
(Goes to Jimmy website)
Jaylyn:(still to self) "Hmm...next three months in Europe. Lame. I'll just leave the page and look at other bands. But wait! What is this I see? A show on October 30? Alas, that is Halloween, but I shall click on it anyway for fun."
(Click.)
Jaylyn:(out loud) "O-M-G!!!! " (then to self) "Tempe, AZ on October 30 and tickets are only $25?!?! Yes. Yeeees."
(Calls Alex, forsaking Christmas surprises in leiu of recent amazing news)
Jaylyn: "OMG! OMG! JIMMY!!"
Alex: "OMG! OMG! JIMMMMMMMYYYYYY!"
(Impulse buys tickets)
Alex: ".......... did we just impulse buy a road trip?"
Jaylyn: "Yes, yes we did."

Fast forward two weeks.
On our way to Jimmy, rocking the Aviators.

(Silence in the car for a little while)
Alex: "Are we seriously driving 7 hours for a concert?"
Jaylyn: "Ya, we're a little crazy, eh? Hehe."

We tried to take pics at the concert, but this is really the only one that turned out (unfortunately) because the lights were still up.
I'm reeeaaaalllly excited. Can you tell?

I didn't include this one in the total count of pictures that turned out because...well, you can see. It's funny, though, so I wanted to include it anyway. It may look like a crazy-face game picture, but this was my reaction to the first flash, not realizing it hadn't taken the picture yet. Hehe.

Anyway, the concert absolutely rocked my socks off. And Alex's. It was so much fun, and they were SOOooo good live.

(Silence in the car on the way home)
Alex: "That was so worth it."
Jaylyn: "Ya, impulse road trips to see freakin rockin bands are awesome. Let's do it again sometime."
Alex: "Mmmkay, honey."

Birthdays and Such

I had such a spectacular birthday! Alex got me these AWESOME gifts!

I've been daydreaming about this chair from Pier 1 for over a month but was too afraid to splurge, so Alex did it for me. He is great.

YAY! A place for all my crafty stuffs!

YAY! A purse! And it's PURPLE! And perfect. I've been needing a new one for months and months. Poor Alex has had to listen to me complain about it the whole time. He is so sweet.

Look at these flowers. Aren't they beautiful? And are they full of all my favorite flowers that my husband knows off the top of his head? Yes, they are. I was the envy of all the girls at my work. Sshh, don't tell, but my husband is better than all of theirs.

We went to Gun Barrell with our couple besties, Dan and Stacy Telford. Love them.

Thanks to everyone for making it such a stupendous birthday, but especially to my superbly awesome hubby!

Don't want to put a damper on the super happy birthday post, but I have to mention how disappointed I am that Morgan Philpot didn't win. Way to go, Utah. Way. To. Go. Putting aside those of you who voted for Matheson, (because I do respect opinion, even if I don't agree with it), all of you who belong in the 66% of eligible voters who didn't vote should be so, so, SO ashamed of yourselves. It makes ME ashamed to be an American. 66%!? Ugh. I hold people who voted for Matheson in higher esteem than those who chose not to vote, and that's really saying something.

Great race, Morgan. You stood for what you believed in, even though it probably cost you the race in the end, and I respect you even more for it.
Matheson, I would say here that I'm going to hold you responsible for all the promises you made, but you (being the expert politician you are) didn't say anything that you could be held accountable for. Well done, indeed.
